For Sorenstam, a Busy, Relaxing Retirement

Annika Sorenstam was preparing to fly to New York last week for a series of charity events and a golf outing. She went in search of her golf bag.
“I realized I didn’t know where my driver was,” Sorenstam said with a laugh Thursday. “These days, I always know where the diaper bag is, but not some of my golf clubs. So priorities have changed.”
Sorenstam’s 6-week-old daughter, Ava, made the trip with Sorenstam’s parents and her husband, Mike McGee. It was a whirlwind visit that reflected Sorenstam’s post-competitive golf life. She accepted an award from the Women’s Sports Foundation and announced a partnership with her Annika Foundation to finance a national award for young female athletes.
