FIRST EVER ANNIKA ACADEMY
OPENS AT REUNION

An extremely brief synopsis of Annika Sorenstam's career might read something like this: Since beginning her professional career in 1994, she has 69 career victories; a record eight Rolex Player of the Year awards; a record-tying eight money list titles; six Vare Trophies for the lowest scoring average; has been named Golf Writers Association of America Female Player of the year eight times, including six years in a row, and has won $20 million-plus in her career, the most all time.

With this career chock full of mind-blowing accomplishments that seem difficult to overstate and even more difficult to actually list, it's hard to think that Annika could even imagine anything else in the game of golf to do.

But she's done more than that.

Annika has opened her first-ever ANNIKA Academy at Ginn Reunion Resort outside of Orlando. The ANNIKA Academy is an all-encompassing, "boutique-style" teaching academy modeled after the process used to make Annika into the record-breaking force she's become on the LPGA for the past decade.

"The Opening of my Academy is a dream come true," Annika said. "The game of golf has given me so much, and I feel this ia perfect way for me to share my passion for golf and fitness with others. I have enjoyed being very involved in every aspect of the Academy's creation. I had a vision, and Ginn has developed it perfectly. We have a fantastic facility with a dedicated team, and I hope that we will inspire both men and women of all ages."

Led by Annika's one and only golf instructor, Henri Reis, and fitness instructor, Kai Fusser, the ANNIKA Academy will model its teachings after Reis and Fusser's collaboration to mold Annika into the dominant golfer she is. Reis will combine his ability to translate the complexities of the golf swing into simple instruction and mold a golfer's mind with Fusser's proven ability to target physical training that will directly translate into a more powerful, efficient golfer. It's the perfect storm of mind, body, and technique.

"Henri and Kai have helped me continue to raise the bar to heights that I never thought possible," Annika said. "I am confident that their simple techniques along with our facility will help others reach their potential as well."

The Academy offers multiple packages, all of which call for small class sizes of six to eight students to ensure as much individual attention as possible. Housed in a spacious 5,400 square foot facility, the Academy is built with specifications to service every potential need that students could desire. Two large hitting booths were created for covered swing training, video analysis and Callaway club fitting. A comfortable conference room is available for students and instructors to review the video analysis, discuss course management, and prepare for lessons, instruction and training. The adjacent driving range, oversized green, and short-game area complete the perfect setting for Academy students to practice. A modern fitness room with top-of-the-line equipment and full-service locker rooms will provide a complete health club experience.

Annika's sister, Charlotta, will also teach at the facility. An accomplished LPGA and amateur player in her own right, Charlotta will help round out the world-class team at the Academy.
When students are not working at the Academy, they will be free to enjoy the many other attractions that Ginn Reunion Resort has to offer.
