Annika has established two scholarships in her native Sweden to help young golfers develop their skills and achieve their dreams.
COLLEGIATE GOLF EXPERIENCE
The Collegiate Golf Experience began in 2003 when Annika recognized the importance of giving back and the need to prepare young golfers for their futures.
Each year, Annika and the Swedish Golf Federation choose two young Swedish golfers to receive this great scholarship. The lucky winners travel to the United States to meet with Annika, where they are given an up-close and personal look at how she practices, seeing the drills and methods that have made her successful, as well as the mental discipline and focus she applies when playing in professional LPGA events. The scholarship also gives the recipients the opportunity to follow Annika while she plays in a tournament.
In addition to these once-in-a-lifetime experiences, the Collegiate Golf Experience gives recipients the opportunity to visit a college in the United States, where they can get a glimpse of college life and see what it takes to be an athlete on a college golf team.
The objective of the Collegiate Golf Experience is to inspire young golfers to improve their golf games, prepare for the future, and develop themselves as human beings. Criteria for selecting scholarship recipients include the following:
- Positive representative of Swedish golf
- Above average grades
- Success in tournament play
- Desire to play college golf in the U.S.
- Values in common with Annika
JUNIOR GIRLS SCHOLARSHIP
The Junior Girls Scholarship was created by Annika in 1996. The purpose and objective of this scholarship is to share Annika’s passion for golf by stimulating interest in the young girls of her Swedish home golf club, Bro Bålsta.
Each year, Annika and Bro Bålsta select an individual or group that best meets the criteria of the Foundation’s principles. By increasing practice activities and tournament opportunities, the Junior Girls Scholarship helps promising young players reach their fullest potential.
